Outlook 2010 Clients not receiving "Exchange Cached Mode" updates to GAL

This is my first time troubleshooting this one.  It looks like the vendor that helped us complete our migration to Exchange 2010 shut down the Offline Address List as it pointed to another server (2003) which was shut down.  This shows in my manager as a "down" condition of the Default Offline Address List.  This has resulted in no updates to the GAL for Cached Exchange Mode users.  Otherwise, the GAL is updating normally.

If I understand the process correctly, I will have to:

Exchange Management Shell

Follow instructions to delete the old file

Generate a new file

Go to the Exchange Management Console and configure the properties

And all of this should get my Cached Exchange Mode customers reading an updated GAL.  Do I have this correctly?

Hello,

I recommend you move the offline address book generation process to another server. Before you do it, you need to make sure your exchange 2003 is available.

Here is the thread for your reference.
